Soaring with Menominee Indian Reservation roots is Wade Fernandez, the Male Artist of the Year from this year's NAMMYS. Wade can be seen throughout the weekend performing solo with native flute, hand drum, and acoustic guitar. Be sure not to miss his special 8:30 pm Saturday night performance as he will be electrified with his full group including the band and dancers. Wade is a multi-award-winning and international touring vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, native flautist, actor, composer, writer and producer and can be seen this fall on PBS and cable-TV stations throughout the nation.
Brulé When Paul LaRoche discovered his Lakota heritage in 1993 he was reunited with family and traditional culture and has made it his life mission to use music to bridge the gap between cultures and promote humanitarian causes. Paul has become a role model, and was the Musical Ambassador at the 1999 UN Peace Conference. Brule has become one of the top-selling Native American artists with more than a million CD's sold worldwide. Their live performances have created a contagious excitement.
Through blending their vision and musical talent, Eagle & Hawk have created a progressive style of music that embraces their Aboriginal roots while building bridges of cultural understanding. Since founded by Ojibway guitarist and songwriter Vince Fontaine in 1994, Juno Award winners Eagle & Hawk have continued as a leading sound in contemporary Aboriginal music. Influenced by modern rock styles, and traditional Aboriginal vocals & rhythms, Eagle & Hawk's versatility and captivating songs have inspired and built fan-bases all across Europe and North America. The front man on stage is lead vocalist Jay Bodner. His rich voice and stage charm have disarmed audiences from coast to coast in Canada, Europe and the United States. His engaging style brings a world-class talent to the stage. Rounding out the core of the band is the rhythmic backbone of bass player DJ St. Germain, drummer Kevin Radomsky, Gerry Atwell on keys, and traditional singer Ray “Coco” Stevenson.

This Andean band originates from
a small village called Atahualpa in Ecuador, South America. Ecuador
Manta, based in St. Paul Minnesota, started in 1992. The group has a
unique style compared to other traditional Andean bands. They have
created their music style over the years by using the traditional
rhythms from Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Colombia and combining them
with more contemporary Latin and Caribbean rhythms. |
