Education Day - Sept. 7, 2012

Indian Summer Education Day or ED Day

In an effort to give students a greater understanding of American Indian culture and heritage, the festival grounds are closed to the public during the day on Friday, September 7 to allow kindergarten through sixth grade students and teachers to spend the day as part of a special educational program. PLEASE NOTE: We welcome Home School students as well!

* PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF UPDATING OUR 2012 EDUCATION DAY MATERIALS BUT YOU CAN STILL REGISTER NOW FOR THE EVENT ON SEPTEMBER 7 BY USING LAST YEAR'S FORMS. THANK YOU!

Craft demonstrations, cultural performances, villages with authentic recreations of dwellings, lacrosse demonstrations, and a fine arts area are among the attractions planned for students. The day also includes a mini pow wow. American Indian artwork, crafts, and food are available for purchase. Additionally, for a nominal fee, children can participate in various hands-on craft activities.

Registration Information
For planning purposes, early registration is requested by Friday, August 19, 2011. The cost for education day is $6.00 per ticket for both students and adults . While payment by August 24 expedites entry onto the grounds, payment is also accepted at the Indian Summer office through September 6th (we will be located on the festival grounds beginning Tuesday, September 4, 2011) or upon arrival on the grounds on September 7.

PLEASE CALL (414) 727-9845 IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS.
